AskMe Terms of Use
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
AskMe is developed, owned, and operated by Pharanos, a technology company registered in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of the AskMe app and the askmecards.com website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Entertainment purposes only
AskMe's content is provided for entertainment purposes only. Question cards, including those touching on relationships, beliefs, money, or personal history, are conversation prompts, not advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional, medical, psychological, relationship, financial, or legal advice, and you should not rely on it as such. You are responsible for deciding which questions are appropriate for your group and situation.
3. Your account
- You can play without an account. Creating content, posting to the community, and syncing across devices require signing in.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and 16+ to access mature-rated decks.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
4. Your content
- You own the cards, decks, and community posts you create. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service, for example, showing your community post to other players, or rendering a card you shared.
- Community submissions are reviewed by human moderators before publication and may be declined or removed. Moderation decisions include a reason, and content that is removed stops being visible to other players.
- You must have the right to any content you submit, and it must not be unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or infringe anyone's rights or privacy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to breach its security, scraping or bulk-extracting content, impersonating others, abusing the sharing or referral systems, circumventing purchase requirements, or using the Service to distribute spam or malicious content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
- Some decks and features are paid. Purchases are billed by Apple's App Store (or Google Play), and their terms and refund policies apply to billing. We never see your payment details.
- Subscriptions (such as VIP) renew until cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings. If a subscription lapses, access to its benefits ends and any content it removed (such as adverts) may return.
- One-off purchases (individual decks, lifetime passes, ad removal) are tied to your account and can be restored on any device you sign into.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including the AskMe name, logo, catalogue of question decks, designs, and software, is owned by Pharanos or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute it except as these terms allow.
8. Disclaimer of warranties and liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pharanos disclaims all liability for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including anything said, decided, or done in conversations the Service prompted. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service, or delete your account in Settings, at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, giving notice where reasonably possible. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 4, 7, 8, and 10) survive termination.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you live elsewhere in the UK or EU, you keep any mandatory consumer protections and courts of your home country.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page before they take effect, and the "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
